A

·         Ask – get ideas and support you’ll never know if you don’t!

·         Abseil – scale a local building

·         Art - can you paint, take photos or know someone who can? Why not stage an exhibition and charge entrance fee and commission.

·         Auction – of ‘promises’ or a slave auction. Auction off items, taking a percentage of sales.

·         Be creative, enthusiastic and shameless!

·         Baby – have a baby competition ask colleagues or friends to bring in baby photos of themselves. People pay to guess who’s who – simple fun and prizes for the winners.

·         Bad tie day – charge your colleagues a £1 to come to work wearing their loudest tie. Award the winner.

·         Bingo – hold a one-off evening or regular morning sessions.

·         Bring & Buy Sale – work, garden or community centre

·         Bungee Jump

·         Baked Bean Bath – get sponsored to spend a day in a bath of beans.

·         Bowling night – 10 pin bowling competition.

·         Coffee Morning

·         Cake Stall – hold a cake stand at fairs. Check health and safety regulations.

 

 
CHARITY OF THE YEAR

Choose Action Duchenne as your school, class, company or team charity of the year.  This offers a valuable way to learn about the charity’s work in depth and to really make a difference through your donation.

You could concentrate your energies into a series of events over a short period of time, such as a week long fundraiser or hold events at intervals throughout the year.

Whatever you do, we’ll be happy to support you with merchandise, information and a speaker.

 

 

 

·         Car Boot Sale – cash in your old belongings

·         Car Wash – wash cars at shopping centres or office car parks.

·         Dress down day – work, school

·         Darts Evening

·         Diet – get friends and colleagues to join you £1 for a £1

·         Drink – Why not get sponsored to give up alcohol.

·         Email – all your friends and get them involved

·         Eighties themed night

·         Face Painting

·         Fashion Show

·         Fair or Fete

·         Film evening – recreate an evening of vintage cinema by showing classic films and musicals. Charge an entrance fee.

·         Golf Day – tournament

·         Gift Aid it – make sure you get the most of your donation, please get in touch if you need more information!

·         Games – monopoly, chess tournament, team trivial pursuit, and scrabble – pay to enter, donated prizes.

·         Hair – shave off your hair, friends hair or maybe a relatives treasured beard!

·         Horses – organise a race night or have a sweepstake at work.

·         Involve everyone you know!

·         International themed evening – a buffet dinner, with each friend bringing a dish from around the world.

·         Join in with an existing eventlook for events in your community (e.g. a fete, running, challenges)

·         Meal – ask a local restaurant for reduced prices if you bring a large party on a weekday evening. Charges cover price plus extra. Raffle and Games too.

·         University Rag Week – use your contacts, does the university support charity of the year or will they do a collection.
