Fundraising Merchandise & Ideas

Fundraising Ideas:

Our supporters have raised money for Action Duchenne in a huge number of ways over the years – from street collections to ultra marathons and cake sales to black tie balls.  Here are a few ideas tips on how to start fundraising – we’d love to hear about any ideas that you have.

  • Do something you’re interested in – some people love running and cycling, some people love baking cakes and some people love organising big events. Almost everything you can think of can be turned into a fundraising event so make sure whatever you choose is something you will enjoy – that way you are more likely to see it through!
  • Give yourself plenty of time to plan your event or train for your 10k. There’s nothing more stressful than trying to organise everything at the last minute, or squeeze in an extra 10 mile bike ride.
  •  Spread the word! Create an online fundraising page at Justgiving or Virgin Money Giving . Use your page to spread the word by email and on Facebook, Twitter and  Linkedin.  Or if you prefer the personal touch let us know and we can send you some sponsor forms.
  • Ask for some help! Your friends, family and colleagues may be able to help with your event by sponsoring you, helping with organisation or donating raffle and auction prizes. Perhaps your workplace will offer sponsorship or matched funding your event. Local businesses may also be able to help – think about your contacts and who would be best to approach for help.
  • Let us know that you’re planning an event. We can provide you with some promotional materials, t-shirts, information about Action Duchenne and publicise your event on our social media channels.
  • Encourage everyone to fill in a Gift Aid form or envelope. . If they are a UK taxpayer this can add up to 25p for every £1 they donate. If everyone added Gift Aid to their donations we could fund an extra research project every year! Find out more and download forms here.
  • Have Fun!
