Helena Bonham Carter

Helena Bonham Carter is an Oscar and BAFTA nominated, English actress and has starred in films including A Room with a View, Fight Club, Corpse Bride, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Sweeney Todd and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In 2008. Helena became Action Duchenne’s first patron.

 

 

Martin Bashir

Born and educated in the UK, Martin Bashir currently hosts his own daily news broadcast based in New York, having joined NBC in 2010 after spending six years at ABC. He is best known for conducting a series of exclusive interviews and making ground-breaking landmark discoveries. He has won numerous awards for his work including three BAFTA nominations and five Royal Television Society Awards.  Martin's brother, Tommy, had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and was recently the subject of a series of moving newspaper articles which appeared in the national press.

 

Susan Bookbinder

Susan is a television and broadcaster, having presented ITV news bulletins and reported widely on BBC Radio Five Live. Her work has including covering the downfall of Margaret Thatcher, the Gulf War, the release of Nelson Mandela and the fall of the Berlin Wall for ITV. Susan was also the first woman to read the classified football results on British radio.

 

 

 

 

 

Julian Lloyd Webber

Julian is one of the world's most renowned solo cellists. He has collaborated with a wide variety of musicians, including Yehudi Menuhin, Lorin Maazel, Neville Marriner, Georg Solti, and Esa-Pekka Salonen as well as Stephane Grappelli, Elton John and Cleo Laine. In 2008, he was invited by the government to be chairman of its In Harmony project, a national community development project aimed at using music to bring positive change.

Richard Goodman

Richard is one of Great Britain's leading young athletes.  Aged 17, he is ranked nationally in the top 3 at under-20 for both 3,000 and 5,000 metres and he has participated in a number of senior international events including the World Cross Country Championships in Poland.  He has won numerous prestigous events including the McCain UK Cross Challenge, the National Junior Athletic League National Final and the Aviva London Grand Prix Diamond League.    Richard is one of the most exciting prospects in British athletics and he looks forward to working with Action Duchenne and spreading the word about our work.
