We like to think of ourselves as just hitting our prime. We enjoy the finer things in life, including travel, socialising and the occasional bout of exercise,
We have all been touched by Duchennes in different ways, knowing children who are currently suffering from this and one who has sadly, recently passed away.
This will be a big challenge for us but we one we are determined to meet and raise funds for a cause that we passionately believe in
To support Action Duchenne, we are attempting the 3 peaks challenge.......
We will walk, crawl or carry each other as we attempt to conquer the 3 tallest peaks in Britain, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon, in just 24hrs. This is involves challenging walking, sleep deprivation, and memories that will surely last a lifetime for us, the participants! More importantly, the aim is to raise much needed funds to help with the research to fight this affliction. We start early on Saturday June 5th with an ascent of Ben Nevis, then a four hour drive to Scafell Pike to ascend that and back down again by midnight. We then drive for another five hours to Mount Snowdon and start the ascent before sunrise and hopefully returning to the foot of the mountain by early am Sunday.
Are we mad.....no, we believe this is a charity that needs support to help fund continued research into Duchenne's.
This challenge is especially dedicated to the memory of Alex Pearson who passed away on 19th March 2010, aged 11.
Please contribute generously and support the search for a cure for DMD
