About Us

Hi Everyone
We are a fundraising committee that set up about 2 years ago following the diagnosis of Joey Levene with Duchenne.
The committee is made up of good friends of Tracy & Tony's (Joey's parents) who want to get involved in raising money and making a difference for everyone living with Duchenne.
We have 17 people on the committee and people get involved in some events but everybody tends to get involved at the actual event.
The following people are on the committee; Tracy Levene, Esther Derber, Leora Kuhillow, Simone Specter, Katie Levene, Naomi Showman, Rachel Epstein, Andrea Berger, Kathryn Levy, Ruthie Kaye, Sigal Bar Ilan, Claire Newman, Hayley Showman, Helen Esner, Jilly Berens, Gemma Lomon & Stephanie Smaje. We also have committee supporters who have been an invaluable help to us.

Our Events

Since the committee launched we have held a number of events including

2 Family Fun Days
Poker Night
New Years Eve Ball
Bingo Night
Pamper Night
Fashion Show

We have also done a number of collections at local supermarkets and shops. This has been great for raising money and talking to lots of people about Duchenne.

We have had lots of support from local businesses, groups & schools and they have allowed us to collect or donated prizes etc...

Setting up a fundraising committee

When we first set up the committee we had very little experience of putting on events and fundraising. We have had lots of fun, raised quite a bit of money and lots of awareness (& made a few mistakes!!!)

We would recommend to get together with a group of friends and set up a fundraising committee. If we can help in any way please contact us. We would love to give any advice.
