PLEASE READ!!!
Use "SPONSOR ME" or "SPONSOR THIS EVENT" button!!!

ALL money donated goes to Action Duchenne- and I'll see if more have donated- but sadly I have no idea if who did it!

And I REALLY want to say THANK YOU to anyone who does!!!

:)

Now the info for your consideration of why to donate to Action Duchenne (AD):

AD is a non-profit group raising money for research and awareness to try and cure this devastating disease. Learn more about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy by following the links at the top of this page.

About me--->Some Crazy Researcher

Yep- I'm one of those folks who is helping AD by doing exon skipping research at the University of Oxford or is it Oxford University (who knows, since they sure don't!).

Currently as extra help I'm running the London Marathon on 25-Apr-2010 and trying raise £1000. If you care to help me reach my goal it will be appreciated!

Now a short explination of what I'm doing:

Exon Skipping

Exon skipping is a gene therapy method that takes advantage of a naturally occurring phenomenon in genetics.

A "simplified" explanation can be found here: http://is.gd/7lILa

But to really put it short and sweet, I'm trying to skip part of the Dystrophin gene to make it work again. Consider it a molecular plaster/band-aid. Not a cure, but hopefully a big help.

Why sponsor me?

Very Simply: I'm in the London Marathon already without needing to fund-raise for a charity to run it.

That's right, I have no requirement to do it. I could run the Marathon and not have to raise any money...But I believe in this organization enough to try and raise money for them.

If what Action Duchenne is trying to accomplish didn't convince you to give, I hope that bit of info does.

Target £500.00
