Way back at the end of 2009 I decided (along with some encouraging from my lovely friend Pauline)to write a book. I never thought it would amount to much, I thought I may get a smallish book out at the end of this.

How wrong I was! After writing several chapters I realised I was writing a proper and considerable book. I settled down and wrote an overview 2 sides of A4 long!

I had to develop determination and perserverance to find a few hours every night to write roughly 1000 words. There was a months break inbetween because I was at a very low ebb, but I bounced back (thanks to God), and after 10 months! I had completed it!

I racked up a total of 92,000 words in those ten months. That's over 400,000 characters long, move over twitter and Facebook! Mum was a tremendous help, providing much needed info and at the time Pepsi max! (Strictly on the flavoured water now). So thanks mum!!!!

Onto the book itself, it chronicles 25 years of my life living, suffering and so far God willing surviving with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. You'll read about my diagnosis, my mothers struggle for understanding and help, my often pleasant and sometimes distressing school life right up to my GCSE's (which I passed), my near fatal ICU visits, a sometimes baffling lack of monitoring and my general fight with the NHS to get basic life saving equipment and care, my chance discovery of art, my brief stint campaigning right up to my present triumphs and battles. All of this interspersed with vacations, laughs, a wedding too, a visit to Sir John Major in 10 Downing street and many highs, lows and adventures along the way.
