Zip slidin' Jayne - jaynemthomas

Well Zip slidin' Jayne (as I am now called) has done it and has landed safely! What an amazing experience and thank you to all who sponsored me and made it so worthwhile. Thanks to all my supporters for not only their money but for their encouragement and prayers. Online comments seemed to have two words in common...mad and prayer....concensus of opinion seems to be that I am a mad woman and need a lot of prayer. Probably a good summing up of me at present.

Thanks to John and Jen for putting up with me and ferrying me around, thanks especially to John for getting me there with plenty of time to spare!!!!! It was very wet and windy but thankfully we had a gap in the weather for our slide. The supporting staff were great and very encouraging and didn't give us too much time to think about it! We were in the first group so didn't have to hang around all morning and after saying my goodbyes and what seemed a very long walk to our position on the bridge it came our turn. James wanted to be first so without much fight we let him have his way. Then it was Victoria's turn - her little legs were at full stretch for harnessing and she swung them all the way down (thankfully her genuine Ugg boots remained insitu and didn't land in the Tyne). Thanks shaun for the video of her it gave us all a laugh. Then it was Shaun's turn and then me coming in last. thank you Lord for your secure arms. Well done also to the two girls in our group raising funds for an orphanage building in Uganda. And that was it all over save for the derigging of equipment. It was a great experience and a great day but definately the need for a warming up time afterwards!!!
