On Fathers day, several mad crazy people (listed below) threw themselves from a perfectly good plane in their quest for a treatment for Duchenne. Being one of those mad crazy people, I have to say that I was terrified!
But Im far more scared of what lies ahead for my little boy, and all those others affected by the devastating muscle wasting condition Duchenne muscular dystrophy. So please please support us and help us find a cure for this cruel condition. 2 babies every week are born with Duchenne in the UK, lets change what that diagnosis means by supporting Action Duchenne who fund research projects for treatments. Currently there are 2 drugs on trial in the UK, help us continue to fund such research, the answers to this condition are out there waiting to be found. Time is not on our side, we hope that YOU are.
The mad and crazy taking part and jumping with me are:
Professor Steve Wilton, Perth, SW Australia. Leading figure in the current exon skipping drugs trial for a treatment for Duchenne (ongoing here in the UK) , member of the Mdex Consortium. Hero to many!
Amanda Burt, vets receptionist, friend to parents who have a son with Duchenne.
Michelle, Vet, Amandas work colleague
Melanie Williams, teachers 3 teenagers who have a younger brother with Duchenne
Joe Plant, a young man with a big heart, who read about us in the local paper and decided to support us by jumping too!
Tracy Comley, aunty to cute Jake, who sadly also has Duchenne.
Chris, friend to Eddy and Belinda Kelly, who also have a son with Duchenne.

UPDATE: Fathers day: cloud held us back, eventually 5 of us got to jump, but Amanda, Chris and myself have re-booked for 2 weeks time. Steve Wilton was one of the first to jump and had a bad landing, resulting in a badly broken ankle, possibly also leg, and dislocation at the ankle, he has surgery tomorrow. How bad do I feel????? He insisted on photos of the ankle and is asking for more sponsorship !!!! Now I am more scared than ever, its really shocked me. But a huge well done to Melanie Williams, Tracy Comley, Michelle Harris and Joe Plant who did a very brave jump today for us!

Sunday 5th July, Chris came across yesterday with the Kelly family to do his jump, way to go Chris!! Then we were given the all clear for sunday to come over and jump.
WOW, it was terrifying but fabulous, I was so scared but the instrctor was fab, and I smiled from the moment we left the plane.... and it was the most magical awesome experience ever.
I really want to do it again!
