About Us

Amanda and myself have been married some 10 years now.
We first met in the Royal Navy, back in 1978. I was in Radio Communications and Amanda was a Radar Plotter before becoming a Royal Naval physio.
We became distant friends, hardly seeing each other. It wasn’t until I was nearing my 23 years of service that we met up again whilst both serving at HMS Warrior.
I was a confirmed batchelor and said was going to remain one, but everything became blurred and I ended up proposing.
Now I have been blessed with 2 beautiful children, Claire aged 10 and Leon aged 7 and a wife who I love more and more each day.
Our son was diagnosed with DMD 8 months ago, and it has been a very tragic blow to us and our family. It is only now that we are able to talk to people about it without breaking down. We are a very close family and have been able to support each other as we have each come to terms with it in our own way. We are very positive for the future for Leon and want to do our best for him.
We are both remaining very confident that soon there will be something available to treat our son and other children with Muscular wasting.

Our Daughter

Claire is 9 going on 15. She is definitely going to be a follower of fashion. She loves to dance. A gentle, caring soul and a lover of nature. She finds her brother 'annoying and a pain' but loves him really!!!!

Our Son

Leon is 7. Always smiling with a cheeky shy grin. He loves to play football and cycle. He is into cars and can spot a Lotus a mile away. He finds his sister 'bossy' but loves her really!!!!
