Great news. An All Party Group of MLAs are working to produce a Reoprt in June 2012 based on research they are conducting into the standards of care here in Northern Ireland. Chaired by Conal McDevitt, they have had two meetings - one with clinicians and one with parents and boys at Stormont buildings and will have a further meeting with the Trust Commissiners in April. Hopefully we will have a fully researched view on how far short our standards are compared to other parts of UK and Europe and the Commissioners will be forced to ensure proper coordinated multidisciplinary services are provided tailored to the needs of each boy with DMD..

Great news!!
Great to see you there at the final meeting yesterday Roy. Proved to be a very interesting meeting to say the least with a lot of details coming to the table. I believe we are going to see a turning point in care standards develop in Northern Ireland with a more positive result.
