The Scottish Muscle Network have asked Craigforth Research Consultancy to map the provision of specialist or dedicated services to people with a range of neuromuscular disorders identifying where there are significant gaps in services or barriers to access for people with neuromuscular disorders. The specific objectives are to:
Map health services in Scotland that are accessed by people who have a neuromuscular disorder in Scotland, particularly those which provide a specialist or dedicated service.
Explore access, referral and eligibility arrangements to these services and the implications for in practice availability for patients with a neuromuscular disorder.
Gather the views of patients, their families, health service providers and stakeholders on their views of current health services, particularly specialist services, for people with a neuromuscular disorder.
map the health services availalbe to both children and adults who have a neuromuscular disorder.
