One of Britain's biggest newspapers, the Sunday People, has highlighted the work of Carl Tilson, a 22 year old living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The article, written by Carl's father Fred, whose own father played football for Manchester City and England in the 1930s, describes the devestating impact Carl's condition has had on their lives and the remarkable work which Carl has undertaken in recent years, raising over £100,000 for Action Duchenne. Carl is also chairman of the charity's Genius project, involving young men with Duchenne and volunteers aged between 16-25 and was recently nominated for the prestigous Pride of Manchester award for Mancunian of the Year, where he is up against the likes of Ryan Giggs, Danny Boyle and Gary Barlow.
