Working for Change
Action Duchenne is committed to funding new research and campaigning with Governments to win the large scale funding that we so desperately need.
Our A Teams around the UK meet on a regular basis to raise awareness of Duchenne and funds to support Action Duchenne research projects and campaigns.
Working with other international non profits to fund research has always been key policy for Action Duchenne. Here we have contributions from some of our international partners and fellow campaigners for a cure and better medical care.
You can join our own UK and Ireland campaigns. Its really easy and very effective. Remember that as PPUK Action Duchenne established the first ever UK consortium to develop exon skipping as a therapy for Duchenne. We then campaigned tirelessly for over £2m from the government for the MDEX project.
Action Duchenne lobbied the MRC and the Government to establish the first translational research centre of excellence in the UK at Great Ormond Street/Queens Square in collaboration with the University of Newcastle. We now aim to extend this high quality provision to all areas of the UK.
