What is your background, where are you from, what do you do, what is your connection to Duchenne?

I live in Monmouth in the beautiful Wye Valley. I run my own Book keeping business from home which is handy as I can juggle my training around my work & family. I’m the proud mum to 3 children, my middle child Ellis has Duchenne.

Why did you take on the challenge of The London Marathon this year?

I have previously run Brighton marathon for Action Duchenne and wanted to support them again & thought why not go for the biggest & best marathon in the UK ??

How are you preparing for the event?

I’m a regular runner but I don’t usually run more than 5-7 miles per run, so I’ve been slowly increasing my distance and also cross training & strength training as I often suffer injuries after distance running....... so far so good

How have the Action Duchenne team helped you in your training?

It’s been great to have contact via messenger with the other team members, it’s nice to hear what training plans or training issues everyone has. It’s also nice to hear people’s fundraising plans, I’ve found the fundraising difficult in the past so hearing other people’s ideas is great & keeps me focussed.
