Attracting over 11,000 participants and 30,000 spectators each year, this iconic triathlon has become a must-do event in the sporting calendar. With a variety of distances, routes and wave categories to choose from, our event caters for athletes of all levels; from first-time triathletes to Olympic champions, everyone is welcome at the AJ Bell London Triathlon.

The AJ Bell London Triathlon takes place at the ExCeL Centre, Royal Victoria Dock and has a unique urban route, that allows participants to swim, bike & run past the iconic landmarks of our capital.

Distances

There are 4 adult distances available: Super Sprint, Sprint, Olympic and  Olympic Plus. Please see the table for a breakdown of each distance.

You can enter as an individual in any of the 5 distances or as part of a Team Relay in the Sprint and Olympic distance categories. For more information on this please visit the entries page of the website.

The course

All competitors will swim in the Royal Victoria Dock and run around the London Docklands, cheered on by the 30,000 strong crowd. The bike route varies depending on the distance, day and category you choose.

There are 2 different bike routes for our Olympic distance competitors:

  • Saturday Docklands Route – 4 laps turning at Leamouth Roundabout.

  • Sunday Westminster Route – 1 long lap turning at Big Ben followed by 1 short lap turning at Billingsgate.
