Duchenne has a life-expectancy of late 20s. Those living with Duchenne lose the ability to walk around 11, then lose the use of their arms around 18. By early 20s they need 24 hour care and help to breathe.

Living with Duchenne is a big deal. It’s a tough journey. We are Action Duchenne, a small but powerful charity who are working to make that journey better for people with Duchenne and their families.

On 15 and 16 November 2019, we will bring together over 500 families and experts from the global Duchenne community in the Jurys Inn, Hinckley, Leics for our annual  Action Duchenne International Conference. 

It’s a life-changing event for many and as a volunteer, you can help our small, amazing team deliver this incredible event.

As a volunteer, you will be helping us in all aspects of running an event of this size, talking to families and young people with Duchenne, assisting in the conference rooms, helping on the registration desk, looking after exhibitors etc. You will be given full briefing and will be looked after by our lovely team.

We’ll also pay your travel expenses if required.
