Fundraising at school

Thank you for choosing to support Action Duchenne in your fundraising at school. It really means a lot to us and to the entire Duchenne community.

Your school’s fundraising will help to increase awareness of Duchenne muscular dystrophy and raise vital money to help us continue our mission to create a world where lives are no longer limited by Duchenne.

Did you know, 93.8p in every £1 you raise for Action Duchenne will be spent on our charitable activities (research, support, education) that’s a pretty impressive statistic, and one we are very proud of!

Help us raise awareness

World Duchenne Awareness Day

World Duchenne Awareness Day happens on the 7th September each year and is a great opportunity for schools to get involved and raise awareness. You can find out more about it and download free resources here.

Explaining Duchenne to children

This short animated video was produced and directed by young people living with Duchenne who took part in our Lottery Funded transition project. The video is a well-pitched introduction to the condition, great to use for assemblies or lessons.

Combine your awareness event with another special ocassion

Moorside Primary School in North Yorkshire had the amazing idea of combining their Holi celebrations with fundraising for Action Duchenne. Inspired by their pupil Edward, who lives with Duchenne, the school held a colour run to raise both money and awareness. Their moving story was even featured on the BBC.

Charity of the Year

Supporting Action Duchenne throughout the school year is a great way to engage your students with our work and raise vital funds for our life changing work.

We can support you in many different ways.

  • Fundraising resources
  • Lesson resources
  • Assembly resources
  • Speaker for assemblies
  • Free training for staff if you have a pupil with Duchenne muscular dystrophy
  • Celebrating the impact of your support

Our Community Fundraising and Support Officers will also give you dedicated support.

Your school really can help us to create a world where lives are no longer limited by Duchenne muscular dystrophy. We can’t wait to work with you!

Here to help you

Whether you’ve supported us before, or if this is your first time supporting us, we’d love to have you on board.  Get in touch by emailing info@actionduchenne.org

The Heart of Care

The Heart of Care We have had some key reminders of what we are working towards as a charity over the last few weeks. Volunteer’s Week (2nd – 8th June) was a chance to thank all of the people who give up their time and expertise for Action Duchenne. From the team of trustees, those …

Mental Health Awareness Week: Alex’s Journal

Written By Alex Berbank 15 Minutes a Day I’ve really enjoyed getting into the frame of mind to look at my mental health. Before this week I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. My ideas of what looking at my own mental health would look like weren’t accurate. I thought there would be more softly …
