Action Duchenne raise over £30,000 this year at charity balls

December 19, 2017 by abzali123

Lesley Wegg, the Maurice family and the Ward family have all held charity balls for Action Duchenne this year raising an amazing total of £30,000 between them.

Team Ashley

An absolutely fantastic night was had by all at Lesley Wegg’s annual charity masquerade ball, with competitions, auctions, the raffle to end all raffles and of course dancing the night away until the small hours!

Special thanks to Lesley for all of her hard work and relentless commitment in making the event such a success, and growing on this event year on year. Congratulations on raising a staggering £17,361! We also need to thank the dedicated group of parents, family and friends who have supported, designed, brainstormed, printed, shopped, stapled, and drop-boxed, all to help in ensuring the fabulous success of the night.

Hear from the lovely Lesley herself!

Team Toby

The Maurices ball was an absolutely amazing night with glitz, glamour, and a brilliant group of people gathered in attendance. A whopping £5,400 was raised on the night, a real testament to the hard work put in by Kate and her family and friends, but also the love and support given to Kate’s son Toby who is living with Duchenne.

The Maurice family have thrown themselves into fundraising and have ran, cycled, danced and more in their tireless endeavours, raising well over £50,000 since Toby’s diagnosis. Thank you so much to Kate, Andrew, Toby, Lara, and the whole of their extended family and friends.

Team Dexter

Zoe and Ben Ward hosted a charity ball for Action Duchenne, raising a staggering £7,000.

Zoe and Ben have thrown themselves into fundraising following their son Dexter’s diagnosis with Duchenne. And with the support of their amazing family and friends, are determined to make a difference to the lives of all those affected by Duchenne.

A truly inspirational couple who have recently become family ambassadors.

A special thank you to all those who helped organise the event, donated raffle & auction prizes and gave so generously – you are all amazing.
