Spotlight on Dr David Schonfeld

Dr. David Schonfeld is a distinguished pediatrician and child development expert with
over three decades of experience supporting children through trauma, grief, and
crises. Renowned for his compassionate approach, he founded the National Center
for School Crisis and Bereavement, empowering educators, healthcare professionals,
and communities to address the emotional needs of youth during challenging times.
A respected advocate, author, and speaker, Dr. Schonfeld combines evidence-based
strategies with practical wisdom to foster resilience in young lives, emphasizing
collaboration and actionable solutions to ensure compassionate care when it
matters most.

Since 2009, Dr. Schonfeld has been a highly valued supporter of Action Duchenne,
sharing his expertise at our annual international conference and digital events. As
one of our most esteemed speakers, he delivers supportive and practical guidance to
families, caregivers, and professionals navigating the challenges of Duchenne
muscular dystrophy. His ability to translate intricate emotional and developmental
concepts into clear, compassionate guidance has made him a trusted voice within
our community. Through his ongoing collaboration, Dr. Schonfeld continues to equip
individuals with the tools and knowledge needed to support children and families

Dr Schonfeld will be hosting the first of our Webinar Series 2025. The first of his two sessions will take place on Tuesday 4th March at 6pm and will be focused on ‘Coping with the Diagnosis’. The second will take place on Tuesday 18th March at pm and will look at ‘Coping with Grief and Loss’.
