Take Time for YOU
Looking After You at the Community Summit
Living with Duchenne impacts the whole family. That’s why, alongside our programme of sessions and activities, we’re creating dedicated spaces and wellbeing opportunities designed to help you pause, recharge, and find support throughout the Summit.
Visitors will be able to access free counselling and emotional support from experienced counsellors, including opportunities for private conversations during the event. For those looking to unwind, we will also be offering complimentary hand massages, beauty therapies, guided mindfulness sessions, and practical bitesize wellbeing workshops, sharing simple techniques that can be used in everyday life.
Our dedicated Quiet Space will provide a calm, low-sensory environment for anyone needing a break from the busy event atmosphere, while relaxation headsets and sensory activities will offer additional ways to rest and recharge.
Whether you are a parent, carer, sibling, partner, or an individual living with Duchenne, these wellbeing experiences are available throughout the Summit because your wellbeing matters too.
Wellbeing Zone: Peer Support Groups
The Wellbeing Zone offers a dedicated space to connect with others who understand the realities of living with Duchenne or Becker muscular dystrophy. Join our Mums Group, Dads Group, Grandparents Group, Newly Diagnosed Families Group and Families of Non-Verbal Children Group to share experiences, exchange practical support and build meaningful connections with others on a similar journey. Whether you’re seeking advice, understanding, or simply a listening ear, these sessions provide a welcoming space to connect and feel supported.
