Bone health in DMD: Steroids, Vamorolone & updated 2025 guidance

Dr Jarod Wong, Paediatric Endocrinologist at The Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and Shima AbdelRahman, Research Assistant will joins us for this session will focussing on bone health and endocrine issues in Duchenne. It will also look at vamorolone data and provide updates on the adult bone guidance. Participants will gain practical knowledge to support care.

DMD Care UK nutrition and weight management guidance

Dr Jarod Wong will be joined by Lead Clinical Research Dietitian Laurie Cave. This session provide an overview of nutrition guidance with key insights from the forthcoming DMD Care UK Nutrition Guidance. Attendees will learn the best practice in weight management, dietary considerations and practical strategies to support health and well being.

Overview of cardiac care guidelines in Duchenne

Cardiac care is one of the critical components of Duchenne muscular dystrophy care, this session will provide a clear overview of the latest cardiac care guidelines, highlighting recommended monitoring and medical management of cardiac care with Kadhim Kadhim, Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist.

Overview of respiratory care guidelines in Duchenne

Respiratory management plays a vital role in maintaining health and quality of life in Duchenne . This session with Lisa Edel, Senior Specialist Respiratory Neuromuscular Physiotherapist, will offer an overview of current respiratory care guidelines, equipping participant with the knowledge to apply best practice in daily care and clinical decision-making.

Recent therapeutic advancements in Duchenne

Francesco Muntoni, Professor of Paediatric Neurology and the Director of the Dubowitz Neuromuscular CentreThis session will explore the latest therapeutic advancements in Duchenne muscular dystrophy, highlighting emerging treatments, current evidence and their potential impact on care.
