Health and Wellbeing
Our Health and Wellbeing stream will run on Friday 14th November and is designed to empower you with the knowledge to help your family thrive. Experts in neurodiversity in Duchenne, physiotherapy at all stages and the psychology of talking to your children about the diagnosis will provide you with essential tools to help you navigate some of the physical and emotional challenges along your journey.

As one of our most esteemed speakers, he delivers supportive and practical guidance to families, caregivers, and professionals navigating the challenges of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. His ability to translate intricate emotional and developmental concepts into clear, compassionate guidance has made him a trusted voice within our community. His session will kick off our Health and Wellbeing stream on Friday 14th of November and we know it will be one not to miss!
Dr James Poysky
A regular and always popular speaker at our International Conference, Dr. James Poysky is a clinical psychologist and paediatric neuropsychologist. He is an internationally recognized expert in the impact that Duchenne muscular dystrophy can have on learning, behaviour, and emotional adjustment. One of the most common challenges we hear from our families is how to manage behavioural and learning differences. James will discuss neurodiversity in Duchenne with focus on behaviour and learning difficulties, sharing his insight and knowledge from his extensive work and his shared experience as a Duchenne dad himself.
Marion Main
We are delighted to welcome Marion Main, trustee and long-standing friend of Action Duchenne and regular presenter at our Annual International Conference, to our 2025 event. Marion will be part of our Health and Wellbeing stream on Friday 14th November, and she has an absolute wealth of knowledge from her role as Physiotherapist at world-renowned neuromuscular centre of excellence, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
Marion will be joined by Jose Longatto and Nicola Burnett, highly specialised physiotherapists with extensive experience of working with Duchenne. We will have interactive workshop-style sessions for both ambulant and non-ambulant children and young people. Join us for an engaging and interactive session diving into the exercises, stretches and how to fit them into every day life.
