In-Person Support Events
Our amazing team of regional Outreach Support Officers arrange in-person meet-ups throughout the year. We will have different focuses for the events to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to take part. We’ll be arranging meet-ups across the different regions for parents and carers, for the whole family together, for those 18+ and living with Duchenne, and for children living with Duchenne and their siblings. The details will be updated as our plans are finalised, so watch this space and be assured that there will be an event for you!

Residential Weekend, Calvert Trust Exmoor

- Who: Boys living with Duchenne aged 12-18 plus 2 adult carers
- When: Friday 22nd May – Monday 25th May
- What: An activity weekend at the beautiful Calvert Devon Outdoor Activity Centre. Set in stunning countryside, this weekend is designed specifically to give boys a chance to try exciting outdoor activities in a safe, inclusive, and confidence-building environment. The centre specialises in accessible adventure, with expert instructors and adaptive equipment to ensure every young person can take part fully, regardless of ability. Two adult carers per family are welcome to attend, making this a shared experience rather than something families need to navigate alone. Accommodation, meals, and all activities are fully provided.
- Ask Questions Before You Decide: We understand that travelling away from home, especially for the first time or with complex needs, can bring understandable questions or concerns. To help families feel confident, we will be holding an online meeting with Amy from the Calvert Trust, who will talk through the centre, facilities, activities, and support available. There will be plenty of time to ask anything you would like to know, so you can make an informed decision.
Spaces are limited, so we encourage families to register their interest as soon as possible.
