A warm welcome message from our new National Director

February 14, 2020 by Samantha

I am delighted to have been appointed as National Director of Action Duchenne. It is an honour to become part of a charity so dedicated to making a positive difference.

Since volunteering at the Action Duchenne International Conference in November, I have been inspired to see how Action Duchenne’s work is respected by our stakeholders.

Speaking to our families and partners and seeing the feedback we get, it is great to see how they recognise the care and patience that goes into the support services that we are committed to providing for these young people and their families.

I am looking forward to working together with our dedicated trustees, volunteers and staff team. I hope that together we can build stronger connections with other Duchenne charities and key stakeholders.

By developing shared areas of interest, I am confident that we can identify how our work can help support our stakeholders’ wider objectives. Working with our other charities, government agencies, NHS and care organisations, academia and biotech companies worldwide, I can see opportunities to increase our influence, enhance our reputation and gain greater recognition for the work we do.

I recognise the challenges the organisation faces in 2020. By showing families and partners we are proactive and can get things done they cannot achieve alone. I believe we can create shared value to take the organisation beyond today’s challenges.

I would like to speak to as many people as possible over coming weeks to understand how I can help you. If you have any ideas about how we can take forward our activities I would really value your thoughts, so please do reach out.
