Webinar Series 2026 Recording: Movement that Works Part 2: Building Resilience Through Sports
Paralympic double gold medallist Rachel Morris joined us for a webinar on using sport to build resilience in the context of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. As a disability sports advocate and mental health practitioner, Rachel explored both the social and medical benefits of physical activity and what they mean in practice for those living with or affected by DMD.
The session covered the Social and Medical models of disability, practical approaches to building resilience, the real-world benefits of a well-fitted chair, why managing your own chair and activities matters for independence and confidence, and an overview of the adaptive sports options available to the DMD community.
Whether you’re living with DMD, a parent or carer, or someone supporting the community, this recording offers grounded, expert insight from someone who has lived the realities of disability at the highest level.
