As part of our Science Education programme, we are running a series of Winter Webinars with some of your favourite Duchenne experts!

We are delighted to announce that we will be welcoming renowned physiotherapist and Duchenne expert Marion Main to our webinar series.

This webinar will take place on Tuesday 20th February via Zoom

Marion is a regular and always popular speaker at our Annual International Conference. Her webinar will focus on the crucial role of physiotherapy in Duchenne and will cover:

Physio for the adults
– What sports are helpful
– One of the feedback from the conference physio session was that actual stretches were missing. Maybe you could also focus this webinar on stretches, it will be a very useful asset for the families
– Finding a balance to not further damage muscles : how far to go with exercise/movement and the do/don’ts ? Esp from parents with young children who did not know how they could best preserve muscle function.
– What is north star, what do they use in their assessments?

  • Stretches
  • How far to go with exercise and movement – dos and don’ts
  • What is the role of the North Star Assessment
