Giving Tuesday: A day of giving

You are here: Home / Giving Tuesday: A day of giving

GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good.

Over the last decade, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

On 29 November we want to make things easy for our supporters with our 5 Ways to Give

  1. Donate

    *£20 Could pay for a newly diagnosed family to receive an initial support telephone call and vital information pack.

    *£50 Could fund one full hour of research.

    *£100 Could contribute to bringing a Duchenne science education event to our families across the UK

    *£500 Could help us develop and deliver a support and education webinar

  2. Become a Member

    Your support will enable Duchenne families to attend important support and education events like the Action Duchenne International Conference, Newly diagnosed family event and Science Education Programme, take part in our transition to adulthood residential and access our world-class support services as soon as they are diagnosed. Join us today.
  3. Volunteer

    We are looking for Community Champion Volunteers and Event Volunteers. Find out more and register;

Honouring George and Finding Community

Honouring George and Finding Community Remembering George one year on. “If I’d never experienced George having Duchenne, I wouldn’t be half the person I am now. He taught me so much about life. I truly believe that boys with Duchenne are just the most awesome people in the world.”  On Sunday 26th April 2026, Louise Ruddick ran the …

Turning Challenges into Change – Our Story with Action Duchenne

I was introduced to Action Duchenne by the Muscle Team in Newcastle shortly after Oliver’s diagnosis in 2017. In those early, overwhelming days, their support meant everything. Members of the Support Team would call just to let me talk, vent, cry — whatever I needed. They were simply there, and that’s why I choose to support them every …

Louise’s London Marathon Story

Louise’s London Marathon Story Written by Louise Ruddick “My relationship with Action Duchenne came about very spontaneously at the beginning of January this year. My brother, George, was diagnosed with Duchenne back in 1992, just before his third birthday. He was obviously too young to be aware however the impact that it had on our …
