Host a Halloween Event

If you are thinking of organising your own Autumnal or Halloween event and are looking for inspiration, support and advice then you are in the right place! We would love to hear from you.

The work we do at Action Duchenne is fuelled by incredible people like you and your wonderful supporters, families and friends.

Through choosing to fundraise for Action Duchenne you are directly helping to create a world where lives are no longer limited by Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Why fundraise for Action Duchenne?

You will be helping us to continue to support as many families as possible, bring Duchenne science to you and support our young people taking part in our transition project.

Start planning your Halloween event

Prized Pumpkins

How about a pumpkin carving competition? Everyone can donate to their favourite pumpkin, and whoever gets the most overall wins. There could be certain challenges, too. For instance, if anyone’s able to carve something to do with a particular topic of theme into their pumpkin, they get a special prize.

Halloween Bonfire/Barbeque

Plan your own bonfire/barbecue event for the locals! Raise money by selling spooky hot dogs, toasting marshmallows and hot chocolate. Please follow all laws and safety protocol when holding a bonfire – one safe option is to use a fire pit and have adults supervising at all times!

Movie Night

Host an scary movie night at a local park, your garden or in your house. You may need a permit or permission to use a public space, a projector, large white sheet/projector screen, sound system, food, and beverages. If you don’t have access to this equipment, ask your friends and family to reach out to people who might!

Idea: You could combine the bonfire and movie night to host an epic fundraiser party!

Trunk or Treat

Invite members of the community or your street to include their car book (aka trunk) in a Trunk or Treat display. Each car pays to get to get involved, they decorate their trunk and every visitor can give a small donation to each trunk they visit. There could be a prize for the best trunk!

Halloween Dress Up

Host a Halloween school or work dress up day competition, people get to dress up in return for a donation.

Halloween Bake Sale

Host a Halloween school or ofice bake sale and sell your best spooky treats!

Idea: You could combine the dress up and bake sale for a fun Halloween themed day in school or at work!
