Yesterday our CEO, Shelley, was invited to the House of Commons to meet with the Secretary-under-State for the Department of Transport, Nusrat Ghani MP, to discuss the importance of the government’s Inclusive Transport Strategy of July 2018 and the new Access For All programme.
The importance of having a national railway service which is accessible to those who have Duchenne is of significant importance – an easier means of travel to be able to attend hospital appointments is crucial for healthcare and the opportunity to access a place of work and have a job is essential to achieve an equal society and quality of life.
Our vision at Action Duchenne is to have a world where lives are no longer limited by Duchenne muscular dystrophy and we are grateful for the opportunities where we can re-iterate this to people with influence.
The interview with the Minister was filmed and we look forward to sharing this with you shortly.
