What to expect from the session

We know that COVID-19 is impacting the Duchenne community in so many ways, with the unique burden being carried by carers, parents and grandparents.  We felt it was vital to give you all a safe space to take time out of your day, to relax and learn new techniques to help you through this journey and beyond.  All you will need is a comfy place to sit/lie, a pillow and a blanket (optional). The Coach will take you through breathing, a gentle warm up, stretching, face and head massage then progressive muscle relaxation.

The aim is to give you techniques you can use during the session and then in your daily life.

There are 4 Relax & Chill sessions running fortnightly. If you would like to sign up for all 4 sessions, please tick the box in the registration form and you can use the same log in details each fortnight.

About Jolene

Jolene Ironside is a Relaxation Coach, children’s yoga teacher and holistic therapist. Over the past decade, she has helped support our very own Lynnette as a friend and also professionally, and has a good understanding of how Duchenne muscular dystrophy can effect families.  Jolene runs adult and children’s relaxation classes, focussing on movement, mindful moment, self massage, positive self talk and meditation/visualisation. She is also Mum to two children and lives in Cambridgeshire.

I urge all of our amazing Duchenne families to join the webinar, whether you have experienced this kind of session or not. Jolene is amazing at making you feel comfortable and you’ll have a segment of time in amongst all of this craziness to just relax and free you mind of your worries. – Lynnette, Duchenne Mum

Supporting you through COVID-19 and beyond

With the impact of COVID-19 on our personal and professional lives growing and changing every day, the Action Duchenne team are watching developments closely and are constantly considering how we can use our resources to positively support you and each other through this challenging time.

To this end, we are moving Action Duchenne’s support offering wholly online for the next few weeks.
