The better you understand your child or young person, the more equipped you are to help them manage their behaviour.
We are delighted to bring you the knowledge, passion and insight of Dr. Natalie P. Truba PhD, Clinical Psychologist in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr Natalie comes highly recommended by friend of Action Duchenne and regular International Conference room-filler, Dr James Poysky. James’ ever-popular sessions on learning problems and neurobehavioural disorders in Duchenne lead on beautifully to Dr Natalie’s two sessions over the forthcoming weeks.
Learn from Dr Natalie about the challenges of behaviour in Duchenne, so you can understand why you child or young person behaves in a particular way.
Dr Natalie will join us for two sessions, 28th January and 5th February 2021. We will create a warm, inclusive and open environment, encouraging you to get as involved as you wish.
Dr Natalie’s aim is to enable you to share with each other, learning different techniques that have worked for other parents, along with lending her professional and clinical expertise.
Both sessions will be fluid, although Dr Natalie will give more of an in-depth overview of the ‘science’ behind her work in the first session on 28 January.
The second session on 5th February will be more interactive, with more questions from the audience and time for open discussion around the topics important to you.
Both events are free as part of our support and education programmes.
The events will take place online via Zoom.
You can register for one or both sessions in the link below

A Clinical Psychologist is a mental health care specialist who offers counselling services to adults, couples, children, and communities.
With a Ph.D. in psychology, they work in research, teaching, and clinical practice to help patients understand themselves and cope with day-to-day issues, mental illness, abuse, addiction, and loss.
They are responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological issues within the clinical setting.
While not a hard and fast rule, clinical psychologists tend to focus and have more training than other types of psychologists on serious mental health issues.
